Pakistan’s opening batsman Ahmad Shehzad recently participated in the debate about the best batsman in the modern-day cricket. Virat Kohli and Steve Smith were the two candidates between which Ahmad had to select.
The right-handed batsman said that Steve Smith is a better batsman in the longest format of the game while he picked Virat as a more superior player in the limited-overs cricket. Indubitably, Smith and Virat have been performing consistently for their respective teams.
Smith had a remarkable resurgence after his ban ended and enjoyed a remarkable Ashes series. Following the Ashes series, Smith also had some good outing during the home series against Pakistan and New Zealand. However, Virat has been dominating all the 3 formats in the recent past.
Ahmad Shehzad has not been a consistent part of the Pakistan cricket team in the recent past. His last International appearance was against Sri Lanka during the home T20I series. The opening batsman is hopeful that he will make a solid comeback in the team with his performances.
