Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Islamabad United have become the first side since the inception of the tournament to introduce the concept of home and away shirts. They will implement this idea for fifth edition of the PSL.
They will don the traditional red kit during home games but plan to switch to the change of stripe to predominantly yellow for the games outside of the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. The two-time PSL winners have made the claim that they are the first side in Pakistani sport to introduce the concept of a changed kit.
"We have always prioritized quality over appearance, and the changes we have made for our kits over the past years have been reflective of that." - United owner Ali Naqvi said.
"While the concept of home and away kit is becoming more of a norm in cricket, we are proud to be the first to introduce that concept in Pakistan. Islamabad United has always taken pride in being innovative in everything on and off the field, and this is just a continuation of that.” - he added.
