While Pakistan underachieved in both Tests and ODIs under the leadership of wicket-keeper batsman Sarfaraz Ahmed, they thrived in T20I cricket. The wicket-keeper batsman, along with head coach Mickey Arthur, worked really hard to make Pakistan the best team of the shortest format of the game, evident from the green team sitting at the top of the table of 20-over cricket.
However, the last three series didn’t go well as Pakistan, after winning a plethora of T20I series, suffered defeats against South Africa, Sri Lanka and Australia. This has also pushed their top ranking in T20I cricket in a dangerous framework where even a single defeat in the forthcoming T20I series against Bangladesh would dethrone the boys in green.
To maintain their supremacy in the T20I cricket, Pakistan will have to defeat a spirited Bangladesh side in all the 3 T20Is. The three-game series would commence on January 24 with next two matches meant to be played on January 25 and 27 respectively. For these contests, the iconic city of Lahore would play the role of the host.
