West Indies tour of Sri Lanka curtails Pollard’s availability for PSL 2020

Having less than a month left in the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), all the six franchises are gearing up to win the PSL 2020. However, International cricket during the PSL season forced the teams to devise alternate plans.

Recently, Peshawar Zalmi has been jolted by the curtailed availability of their platinum player Kieron Pollard who will be busy in West Indies’ forthcoming tour to Sri Lanka. The two teams are set to engage in 3 ODIs and 2 T20Is and Pollard being the skipper of the white-ball teams of West Indies will have to miss few fixtures of Peshawar.

With this cricketing action, the explosive Caribbean all-rounder might skip 7 to 8 games of Zalmi which would create a massive void to be filled. However, he will be available for the playoffs of the 20-over competition if Peshawar qualifies for this stage. Mustering a total of 650 runs across 30 innings, Pollard averages 32.50 in PSL whilst maintaining a daunting strike-rate of 166.24. It would be interesting to see how Zalmi responds to this muddle.
