India skipper Virat Kohli has expressed frustration regarding the tight scheduling of the team’s international assignments. India’s T20I series with New Zealand began less than a week after winning the ODI series at home against Australia.
India’s trip to New Zealand will be immensely hectic since the visitors are expected to play in five T20I contests, three ODIs and two Tests within the space of six weeks. Complaining about the scheduling publicly, Kohli hoped the BCCI would be more thoughtful the next time around so that players don’t suffer the effects of burnout.
“It is definitely getting closer and closer to landing at the stadium straight. That is how compressed the gap has become. I think this kind of travel and coming to a place which is seven hours ahead of India time is difficult to adjust immediately. I am sure that these things will be taken into consideration much more in the future” -he said.
