ICC Chief Executive Manu Sawhney, along with some other members from the cricketing body, concluded their 2-day tour of Pakistan with some positive results. The team was happy with the safety arrangements of PCB for the T20I series against Bangladesh.
Moreover, PCB chairman Ehsan Mani and chief executive Wasim Khan had a constructive meeting with the ICC officials. Wasim Khan has assured fans that Pakistan has proposed a strong case of hosting some of the ICC events between the period of 2023 to 2031. This cycle includes 8 men’s event, eight women’s event, four men’s Under-19, and four women’s Under-19 events.
PCB chief executive Wasim Khan said: “We had positive, constructive and wide-ranging meetings with the ICC in relation to the 2023-2031 event cycle. As part of our vision, we want to push on and host a number of ICC global events during the next rights cycle.”
Recently, PCB has been successful in hosting a number of series in Pakistan and with Pakistan Super League 5 scheduled completely in the country, this will represent a more positive image of Pakistan to the foreign world. Pakistan is expected to host Asia Cup in the on-going year, however; the official announcement is yet to be made.
