T20 World Cup might still be 9 months away or so but all the teams have commenced their participations to add a silverware to their trophy cabinet. Same is the case with India as they are currently locking horns with New Zealand for a five-game T20I series.
It is no secret that despite carrying sturdy squads, the men in blue failed to win many ICC trophies in the last 8 or 9 years. The tournaments like ICC Champions Trophy 2017 and ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 serve as the prime examples where India threw it all away after being dominant for the major part of the competitions. However, the mega-event, scheduled in Australia, provides them a chance to make amends.
Recently, head coach of India, Ravi Shastri shared his views on the forthcoming edition of the T20 World Cup and called winning the tournament as an obsession for his team. He said that his unit is looking to utilize the contests against New Zealand and South Africa to prepare for the global T20 championship and would try to leave no stone unturned to fulfill their ambition of winning the competition.
