Former South African great AB de Villiers is counted among the best ever cricketers produced by his country. Playing a total of 114 Tests, 228 ODIs and 78 T20Is, AB has impressed everyone with his prowess, scoring over 20,000 runs.
Recently, he sat down to talk about his idols of the game. The batting genius, who is currently participating in the ongoing edition of the Big Bash League (BBL) was asked to name the cricketers he idolized while growing up. Consuming a bit of time to structure his thoughts, the 35-year old picked Shaun Pollock, Jonty Rhodes and Brian McMillan from South Africa.
Talking about other cricketers, he credited Glenn McGrath, Shane Warne and Sanath Jayasuriya for always inspiring him. AB believes that there is something special about the mentioned cricketers as they had a habit of registering elite shows when pushed against the wall. He further added that he always loved watching these cricketers play because they were always prepared for the tough situations.
