Saud Shakeel handed captaincy for Pakistan Shaheens

Saud Shakeel will lead the Pakistan Shaheens squad for the upcoming Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) tour of Pakistan. The MCC team, under the leadership of its president Kumar Sangakkara, will play three T20 matches and a one-off 50-over contest in Lahore.

The squad announced for Pakistan Shaheens comprises of several youngsters with Shakeel at the helm of affairs. Shakeel’s captaincy credentials are known given the fact that he was the skipper during their successful Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2019 journey.

The left-handed batsman has been a prolific run-scorer in the domestic cricket, amassing a plethora of runs across all forms of the game. Yet to make his international debut, this decision to make him captain of Pakistan Shaheens will bolster Shakeel’s career as he will compete against quality players like Sangakkara, Ravi Bopara, Moeen Ali and Samit Patel.
