England’s fast bowler Stuart Broad became the 5th bowler of the Test series between South Africa and England to receive a fine and demerit point for offensive behavior. The right-arm fast bowler was penalized after he got involved in a heating argument between Faf du Plessis and Jos Buttler.
Faf du Plessis was hit on the pads by Sam Curran’s throw and while he tried to pick up the bowl and hand it to England’s fielders, the wicket-keeper Jos Buttler bumped into the South African captain. Stuart Broad, who was fielding on the position of the cover, got involved in the altercation.
The fast bowler was fined 15% of the match fees and received 1 demerit point on the basis of Article 2.3 of the ICC Code of Conduct.
