International Cricket Council (ICC) has confirmed the expanded 24-team European qualification round scheduled in June and July. The series of 8-team's tournaments will take place in Spain, Finland, and Belgium.
The winner team from each tournament will then qualify for the main regional final in the next year where the teams will join Jersey. Two teams from this 4-team tournament will then move to one of the main Global event qualifiers.
India, being the host team, automatically received the berth in the main tournament. 12 teams will combat for the glory in the upcoming T20I World cup in Australia and the 4 vacant spaces in these 12 teams will be filled by 2 winners each from the main Global event qualifiers.
The first European qualifying tournament will take place in Spain from 16-22 May, followed by the 2nd tournament from 10-16 June in Belgium, and then the concluding event will take place in Finland from 24-30 June 2020.
