New Zealand’s fortunes faltered again at the night of an incredible T20I game between India and New Zealand. New Zealand lost the 3rd T20I game against India when the match result was concluded from a super over.
With 10 required off the last two balls in the super over, Rohit Sharma smacked Tim Southee for back to back maximums and pulled off an unreal win for his team. New Zealand’s captain Kane Williamson talked about their poor performances in the super overs. He feels that the super overs are not New Zealand’s cup of tea but he said that they let the match slip away.
“Super overs certainly have not been our friend, but I think if we are being brutally honest, we would have liked to have perhaps got across the line before requiring a win in the super over”- Williamson said. 9 was required off the last over of Mohammad Shami when Ross Taylor smacked him for six on the very first ball. With just 3 required off 5 balls, New Zealand could not cope with the pressure and India managed to draw the game.
