Pakistan’s Under-19 team was able to defeat their Afghanistan counterparts rather comfortably in the quarter-final clash of the ICC U-19 World Cup in South Africa. Pakistan’s win was set up by a measured knock from Muhammad Huraira, who brilliantly shepherded his side’s chase of the modest 190-run target.
Huraira racked up 64 runs off 76 deliveries and was deservedly awarded the player of the match prize. His batting heroics have now ensured that Pakistan will face defending champions India in the semi-final encounter. Talking about his feelings for the upcoming high-voltage match against India, Huraira stated he would take it as just another game and hope to get his team over the line.
“We will try to treat it as a normal game. There will be some pressure but we will try to overcome it and perform against India. If all of us give our 110%, we can easily win the game,” he said.
