Abid Ali, the opening batsman of Pakistan, made a swashbuckling entry to the International cricket as the domestic stalwart mustered centuries both on Test and ODI debuts. Recently, he made it clear that he doesn’t want to be tagged as a Test specialist by portraying his wish to represent Pakistan in all the three formats of the game.
The late bloomer got immense confidence with strong starts in Tests and ODIs. Therefore, he aims to utilize that to go strong in T20 cricket, if given the opportunity. Playing 44 T20s, Abid scored 759 runs at a modest average of 21.68 while carrying a strike-rate of 104.97. He also went unpicked in the drafts of Pakistan Super League (PSL). Nevertheless, he carries immense potential and it remains to be seen if he gets his chance in T20 cricket.
“I am open to playing all the formats of the game. T20 is a popular format and I am always ready if given the opportunity. Almighty blessed me with success in Tests and ODIs, so I am positive about availing any chance to play the shortest format of the game,” said by Abid Ali while showing his willingness to play 20-over cricket.
