Kamran Akmal, the wicket-keeper batsman of Pakistan, was recently found interacting with his fans via a question and answer session on his Twitter handle. A fan asked him to name his favorite T20 innings and the hard-hitting batsman, wasting no time, picked his century against Karachi Kings in the 2017 edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
It was an eliminator of the tournament where Karachi came into the game with some momentum. Peshawar was in need of a strong start and their star player obliged. Mustering 104 runs consuming only 65 balls, the 38-year old helped his side reach a daunting total of 181. Karachi, in response, ran out of gas whilst scoring only 157 runs, getting knocked out of the 20-over competition.
With the fifth season of Pakistan’s coveted T20 league not being far away, Kamran is busy these days to prepare for the mega-event. With 1286 runs in 46 innings, Kamran is the highest run-getter of the tournament’s history. However, it remains to be seen how he fares in PSL 2020.
