KL Rahul has vaulted to the No. 2 slot in the ICC rankings for T20I batsmen after racking up a sum of 224 runs from 5 matches against New Zealand. Rahul was declared player of the series after India made history to become the first team in history to whitewash an opposition by a margin of 5-0.
Rahul, who scored 56, 57*, 27, 39 and 45 respectively in the five T20Is against New Zealand, now boasts a tally of 823 rating points. He trails top-ranked Babar Azam by 57 rating points in the rankings.
Rahul has lately proven himself as a three-dimensional cricketer after starting to don the wicket keeping gloves. He has usurped Rishabh Pant from the specialist wicketkeeper slot and has simultaneously established his utility as a quality top-order player.
