Bangladesh head coach Russell Domingo has slammed the scheduling ahead of the first Test against Pakistan. Bangladesh will be travelling to Pakistan two days before the commencement of the Rawalpindi Test following which the Pakistan Super League (PSL) will begin. The second Test of the series will then take place after the conclusion of the PSL.
Amidst this quirky routine of fixtures, Domingo feels this does not provide his side with enough time to acclimatize to the conditions prevalent in Pakistan. He said it was rather unfair on the Bangladesh team, who are preparing for the Test encounters with training sessions at home.
“It is not ideal. You always want to go there at least seven or eight days before a Test match. Play a warm-up game, have a couple of days’ practice. It is not great preparation for us, but there’s nothing we can do about it. The guys will practice and play here”- Domingo complained.
