After an impressive outing in the ongoing edition of the Big Bash League (BBL), Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell has been recalled to the national side for the upcoming tour of South Africa. The news delighted the explosive batsman to the core as he was yearning to don the national jersey.
Reflecting on his selection and the reason of getting dropped from the unit, Maxwell said that he has cracked the code of countering the short-pitched bowling. The 31-year old cricketer highlighted his batting shows in the domestic T20 tournament of Australia to give strength to his point.
Maxwell admitted that ODI cricket would allow the pacers to use the short bowling weapon more, but he feels that he’d be found equal to the task. He further added that it is important to find the balance between the short balls which are to be played and which are to left alone. Moreover, he is confident of Australia registering a strong and successful show against the rainbow nation.
