Warne disheartened to miss bushfire relief match

Shane Warne has withdrawn from the Bushfire Bash as Cricket Australia is pitching in desperate attempts to combat the forthcoming Sydney downpour by rescheduling the star-studded charity game.

Warne’s last-minute exit comes after the charity match was moved to Melbourne in a step to let the match go ahead as planned. The Bushfire Bash has also been delayed 24 hours and will now take place on Sunday afternoon.

Warne had a prior commitment and communicated his unavailability for the much-anticipated event. He couldn’t shift and his place as captain of one of the teams will be taken by Adam Gilchrist though he left a bit of hope for the game, calling for a private plane to be able to hang onto his commitment.
