Fawad Alam’s long-awaited comeback to Pakistan’s Test side has been further delayed as he is yet to get a chance in the playing XI. After being named in the Test squad for the Sri Lanka series and the subsequent ongoing series against Bangladesh, Fawad has still been deprived of a spot in the playing XI.
Reacting to the constant exclusion of Fawad from the red-ball setup, legendary batsman Younis Khan has criticized the team management. Younis felt the omission of Fawad from the Test lineup sent a wrong message since the latter is a consistent performer in the domestic circuit.
“Fawad Alam’s been a consistent performer. When you don’t pick players who are performing in first-class cricket how do you justify that? Any player, whether he is 19 or 39, if he is fit, performing and is committed should get a chance for the national team,” Younis complained.
