The Pink-ODIs have started to shift their benevolence away from the Proteas side as now they have lost two consecutive Pink-ODI games on the trot. South Africa was toppled over by England in an intense battle at Johannesburg on 9th February. South Africa was restricted to a score of 257,courtesy some outstanding bowling from Adil Rashid.
Quinton de Kock and David Miller scored 69 each and helped South Africa to reach a respectable total. In reply, England was off to a blistering start courtesy Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy’s magic, but it was not too late before South Africa made a strong comeback by picking up 3 quick wickets. Joe Root, Joe Denly, and Tom Banton strengthened England’s case in the middle part of the innings.
The drama continued to take place at the Wanderers as England faced another collapse at the brink of the victory. England lost 4 wickets for just 20 runs and brought Proteas right back into the game. Moeen Ali’s effective innings of 17 runs made sure that England manages to draw the 3-match ODI series, with 2nd game being washed out.
