After getting knocked down in the Test series, South Africa did well to draw the three-game ODI series against the world champions England. In the final match of the series, visitors won the toss and decided to have a crack with the ball.
Delivering a strong bowling show, they restricted the hosts to 256 runs. South Africa, in response, didn’t allow an easy passage as they fought right down to the last ball. However, a paltry total was defeated by the depth of the English batting.
Nevertheless, it was a good experience for the newly installed skipper Quinton de Kock who shined with bat to claim the player of the series award. Reflecting on the recently concluded series, the wicket-keeper batsman said that he loved the way his team showed energy.
He also talked about the captaincy job and revealed that everyone has been extremely supportive which helped him lead the side well. Moreover, the aggressive batsman said that his unit would look to give his best in the forthcoming T20I series.
