Corey Anderson rejoins Somerset for Vitality Blast

For this year’s edition of the high quality Vitality Blast, Somerset has reacquired the services of New Zealand all-rounder Corey Anderson. The explosive cricketer, who represented Kiwis in 13 Tests, 49 ODIs and 31 T20Is, will be available for the entire competition, which would provide immense balance to this unit.

In his last stint with Somerset, Corey mustered 142 runs at 71 whilst maintaining a strike-rate in excess of 184. Even in the 2018 Vitality Blast, he was found in elite batting form by scoring 514 runs in 15 innings at a sturdy average of 42.83. Doing so, Corey maintained a strike-rate of 169 and registered 3 half-centuries.

Reflecting on his contract with Somerset, the belligerent striker showed great interest and excitement as he promised to give his best for the club. Corey will be joined by the batting prowess of top-ranked T20I batsman Babar Azam and England’s latest batting sensation Tom Banton to form a powerful batting department for Somerset.
