New Zealand all-rounder Jimmy Neesham is widely known for his cheeky social media persona, often penning hilarious posts that go viral over the internet. During the third ODI between New Zealand and India, Neesham and KL Rahul engaged in some on-field banter with the medium-pacer claiming it was all good between the Kings XI Punjab teammates.
He later put in a funny caption of a picture of the two as playing the game “paper, scissors, rock” given their gestures. Neesham’s tweet then caught the attention of the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) official Twitter handle, which suggested this game as an alternative to the Super Over.
ICC’s comical suggestion comes in the wake of New Zealand’s back-to-back defeats in the T20I series against India in the Super Over. Their struggles in the six-ball shootout go back to the World Cup final against England and a few months later lost a T20I to the same opponents in the Super Over.
