Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell will miss the upcoming tour of South Africa due to an elbow surgery. Maxwell, who was bearing pain in his left elbow in the final days of BBL, revealed that the doctors have advised him to undergo surgery as scans disclosed some lose fragments of bone.
The surgery will also force Maxwell to miss the start of Indian Premier League as the doctors have advised him 6-8 weeks of rest. Australia will tour South Africa for 3 T20Is and 3 ODIs starting from 21st February.
Maxwell will join Kings XI Punjab, which bought him for 1.5 million US Dollars, after his recovery phase. On the other hand, D’Arcy Short the left-handed batsman will replace Maxwell on the South Africa tour.
