Karachi Kings, after four seasons of the highly valued Pakistan Super League (PSL), remains to be the one of the franchises who have underperformed in the 20-over competition. Despite the ordinary shows, they continued to witness a swell in their fame as the biggest city of Pakistan holds a massive fan-base.
Recently, the mentor of Karachi, Wasim Akram made an appearance in an episode of ‘HBL PSL Baithak’ where he was asked about his views on Karachi’s squad for PSL 5. Responding to the question, he said that Karachi has the needed blend of youth and experience to excel in the fifth edition of the PSL. Moreover, he believes that the presence of game changers like Babar Azam, Alex Hales, Sharjeel Khan, Chris Jordan and Mohammad Amir would help the unit counter tough situations.
The 53-year old had no shame in admitting that Karachi failed to live up to the expectations. However, a rejigged squad has given him hope on embarking a new journey in Pakistan’s darling T20 festival. Karachi will roll into action in PSL 5 on 21 February, against Peshawar Zalmi.
