Veteran West Indies all-rounder Andre Russell has established his credentials as one of the most explosive power-hitters in world cricket. While excelling on the international stage, Russell has proved his mettle more markedly in several franchise competitions around the globe.
One of the finest shorter-format cricketers in the world, Russell recently revealed that his struggles with a knee injury prolonged due to his stubbornness to look good and impress girls. Making the confession in an interview, Russell stated he focused all of his attention during workout sessions on the upper body.
“I would have been pain free from my knees and hopefully I wouldn’t have to have had surgery. Unfortunately, at 23 you are fearless, and I used to ignore that pain and I always gave it a quick fix by taking pain killers and kept running”- Russell said.
"I used to go to gym and just work only on my abs and my shoulders because I wanted to look appealing for the girls. At the end of the day being attractive and then your legs being weak, don’t work”- the star player claimed.
