The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has taken the completely new step of introducing Urdu commentary for the upcoming edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). For the first time in the history of the glitzy T20 tournament, fans and followers of the league will be able to enjoy Urdu commentary on the cricket action for five overs in every innings.
The star-studded commentary panel comprising of Ramiz Raja, Bazid Khan, Urooj Mumtaz and Waqar Younis will call the action in Urdu – Pakistan’s national language – which will be carried on local feeds. This has been done in order to ensure that more audiences feel connected to the PSL action and the coverage spreads to a greater number of people.
“This enhancement is part of the PCB’s drive to provide improved live coverage to its fans and followers, allowing people to get closer to the event and the game,” the press release from the authorities read.
