India’s opening batsman Mayank Agarwal, who had a dream start to his Test career, opened up about his comparison with the former opening batsman Virender Sehwag. Mayank said that he has developed an understanding that there can be only one Sehwag.
Agarwal was asked whether he is looking to give away a lot of his scoring shots as it has not been working for him off-late, to which he replied, “It has more to do with understanding that there can only be one Virender Sehwag. Or that he's a different player and has a different game, and I'm a different player and I'll have a different game”.
He concluded that although there might be some similarities, he wants to pursue things that will work for him. Agarwal recently played as an opener for India in the ODI series but he could not score a lot of runs. But his Test career promises him a bright future ahead.
