“Objective is to play like a number 1 team”- Ravi Shastri

India’s head coach Ravi Shastri sets his eyes on the final of the ICC World Test Championship which is scheduled to be played at Lord’s in June 2021. The former Indian cricketer said that they need 100 more points to stay in contention for the final at Lord’s.

India will play six overseas Test matches this year, which include 2 against New Zealand and 4 against Australia later this year. India is currently leading the points table with 360 points to its name and is in a very strong position to make its way to the finals of the World Test Championship.

“Objective is to play like a world’s number 1 Test team- because that is what this team believes in more than anything else”, Shastri said. India will play their 1st Test match against New Zealand on 21st February at Wellington.
