The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) is currently engaged in a tour of Pakistan where they are scheduled to play three T20s and one 50-over fixture. The Kumar Sangakkara-led MCC team’s tour is yet another step in the resumption of top-flight cricket in the country.
Barring the on-field action, which has been closely contested with MCC defeating Lahore Qalandars at Gaddafi Stadium before losing to Pakistan Shaheens in the 50-over encounter, the MCC contingent also enjoyed the electrifying Kabaddi World Cup final between India and Pakistan.
It emerged that the group of MCC players had actually insisted watching the blockbuster final in Lahore’s Punjab Stadium. The touring squad was thus observed to be watching from the stands as Pakistan managed to edge out archrivals India to lift the Kabaddi World Cup trophy.
