Young Welsh-born batsman Phil Salt has developed the reputation of being a fearless striker of the ball. He has already made an impact on the global T20 circuit but Salt is yet to make his international debut for England.
Having worked as a T20 freelancer, the 23-year-old has the experience of playing in several leagues around the globe. Managing to garner appearances in the Caribbean Premier League (CPL), the Big Bash League (BBL), T20 Blast and the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Salt believes the PSL is far superior compared to other tournaments.
Salt will be donning the Islamabad United jersey for the second time running and stated that there were fewer weak bowling options to target in the PSL.
"The PSL is the best tournament I've played in when it comes to the standard of bowling. In all other competitions there are one or sometimes two bowlers who you fancy your chances against, but in the PSL, there are very few bowlers that are a weak link,” Salt commented.
