Eoin Morgan starred in England’s terrific victory over South Africa in the 3rd and final T20I match at Centurion. The visitors held nerves in a high-scoring battle and sealed the series 2-1. Batting first, South Africa dismantled England’s bowling line-up and scored 222 runs for the loss of 6 wickets. Heinrich Klaasen played an exquisite knock of 66 while Temba Bavuma assisted Proteas with an incredible 49.
In reply, England lost Jason Roy early in the piece but Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler made sure that England keeps the scoreboard moving at a fast pace. Half-centuries from both of them set up the stage for England’s captain Eoin Morgan to fire. Morgan smacked the South African bowlers all over the park in his score of 57 and his fireworks helped England to cross the line in the last over of the game.
This T20I game at Centurion ended an incredible series. England showed that they are right on track for the ICC T20 World Cup later this year. While South Africa showed great fight and resilience under the new leadership of Quinton de Kock.
