After the white-ball leg of the tour, New Zealand and India are all set to feature in a two-match Test series. For this reason, the hosts have announced their Test squad which has witnessed the return of the key paceman Trent Boult who missed the recently played ODIs and T20Is.
Recording impressive shows in the ODI series earned pacer Kyle Jamieson a deserving call-up. Not just that, his domestic numbers have been great in the recent past. However, Mitchell Santner failed to retain his place as the left-arm spinner Ajaz Patel was roped back in the team. Paceman Matt Henry and opening batsman Jeet Raval were also dropped from the red-ball team.
The two-match Test series will commence on February 21 in Wellington with the next game scheduled to be played on February 29 at Christchurch. For this cricketing action, New Zealand’s squad consists of the following names:
Kane Williamson (captain), Tom Latham, Ross Taylor, Trent Boult, Tim Southee, Neil Wagner, BJ Watling (wicket-keeper), Tom Blundell, Henry Nicholls, Ajaz Patel, Kyle Jamieson, Colin de Grandhomme and Daryl Mitchell
