While Lahore Qalandars have failed to record anything meaningful in the four editions of the Pakistan Super League (PSL), the franchise continuously served as a nursey for the budding cricketers. Be it Fakhar Zaman, Shaheen Afridi or Haris Rauf, Lahore has backed them a lot by providing them consistent chances.
Now they are about to enter the 2020 season of PSL and it goes without saying that Lahore has a lot to prove. Realizing this, leading paceman Shaheen Afridi vowed to deliver a strong show in the darling T20 event of the country.
The 19-year old admitted that Lahore failed to live up to the expectations, but feels confident to do well in the forthcoming T20 festival. Moreover, he is delighted to have the complete tournament scheduled in Pakistan as he urged the fans of Qalandars to back them in PSL.
Having picked 17 wickets in 15 games, Shaheen averages 25.64. His economy is 8.41 which definitely leaves an ample room for improvement. A sturdy Shaheen Afridi, a passionate Haris Rauf and a skillful Usman Shinwari means that Lahore has a pace battery which would be hard to counter for all the teams.
