Words will never be able to unfold the magic and drama a contests encompasses which includes the arch rivals India and Pakistan. However, the political tensions have halted their cricketing ties from many years. As a result, the two teams only play each other in International Cricket Council (ICC) and Asian Cricket Council (ACC) events, with no bilateral series taking place.
Reviewing all this, former Pakistan paceman Shoaib Akhtar has called for the resumption of cricket between the two Asian giants. The cricketer turned expert believes that there is clear discrimination when it comes to the game of cricket as the two units are playing Kabaddi and Tennis against each other. Therefore, he feels that it is important to break the shackles and thrill the cricketing world with Indo-Pak contests.
Akhtar further also asked for clarity of relation between the two nations. The 44-year old believes that having an association in few departments while being at daggers drawn in others doesn’t make sense. Ideally, he wants to see both the countries sharing a friendly bond. It remains to be seen how the authorities respond to his demand.
