Islamabad United’s middle-order batsman Dawid Malan turned up the heat with explosive striking his debut outing for the franchise in the Pakistan Super League (PSL). A past veteran of Peshawar Zalmi, Malan punished the Quetta Gladiators’ bowling attack to all parts of the park as he fashioned a wonderful half-century.
The Englishman had come into the PSL at the back of a series of productive knocks in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) including a remarkable century. Carrying on the belligerent form, Malan ramped up his destructive abilities with a spate of spectacular hits.
Malan belted three sixes and five boundaries in his rollicking 40-ball 64 as he emerged as the top-scorer of the match. The left-handed batter was eventually dismissed by Ben Cutting, which triggered a batting collapse for Islamabad United as they lost the match by three wickets.
