The Indian captain Virat Kohli could not resist praising the spirit of New Zealand’s cricket team during a press conference which was conducted ahead of the 1st Test match between India and New Zealand. The Indian team visited the Indian High Commision in Wellington and met with the higher officials.
Virat Kohli feels that although there is a sense of competition between India and New Zealand, the bond between the two country is matchless. The Indian captain even agreed to share their number 1 Test spot with the Kiwis. “If we had to share our number 1 Test spot with any other team, that will be New Zealand”, Virat said.
“We as a team have reached a stage where every team want to beat us and New Zealand is no different but the difference is that there will be no spike in it. That is the only reason that I could sit with Kane Williamson on the boundary mid game and discuss about life and not cricket”, Virat concluded.
