New Zealand’s captain Kane Williamson heaped praise on his Indian counter-part Virat Kohli. Recently, both cricketers spent time on the boundary line during a limited-over game between India and New Zealand. Virat talked about Williamson during his visit to Indian High Commission ahead of their 1st Test match against Kiwis.
Replying to Virat’s praise, Williamson also came up with sweet words. Although the Kiwi captain admitted that they both have a different approach towards the game, the bond between the two is quite strong. Williamson and Virat know each other since the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2008 and since then, they have played against each other a lot.
“We have slightly different approaches which were really refreshing but that is very inspiring from a guy that’s leading the way in his tenacious and competitive attitude but his outlook on the game and what he does in and around it,” Williamson said.
Concluding his remarks, the Kiwi captain applauded Virat’s game awareness and tactics. “We go quite a long way back really, to our Under-19s, and played against each other in different competitions as well, the international arena and the IPL. I have always admired Virat in a lot of ways for setting benchmarks in the international game,” Williamson said.
