The flavor of the ongoing season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) got spiced up with a thrilling contest between Peshawar Zalmi and Karachi Kings. Winning the toss, Peshawar decided to bat first, but hosts responded brilliantly to smash 201 runs, which is their highest ever PSL total.
Peshawar replied brilliantly with the bat despite the early wickets of aggressive batters Tom Banton and Haider Ali. Veteran all-rounder Shoaib Malik also joined the pavilion soon before Kamran Akmal produced a cameo. However, English batsman Livingstone fought till the end as he recorded a stunning half-century on his debut for Peshawar Zalmi.
Mustering 54 unbeaten runs off 29 balls, the explosive batsman managed to hit 2 fours and 3 sixes. With this batting show, he revived Peshawar’s innings from a difficult situation. However, it all went in vain as the death bowling prowess of Mohammad Amir, Chris Jordan and Umaid Asif allowed Karachi to start PSL 2020 on a winning note.
