Karachi Kings skipper Imad Wasim turned up the heat with a breathtaking batting display in his team’s first match of the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Promoting himself up the order, the all-rounder’s maverick decision paid dividends as he regularly dispatched the ball from his sight.
Imad was involved in a 97-run stand with world no. 1 T20I batsman Babar Azam that catapulted Karachi into a strong position in the match. Imad rode his luck in a freewheeling innings glittered by three boundaries and three sixes as he set the ball rolling for Karachi’s dominance.
Imad finally perished in the last over of the innings as he went back to the pavilion after mustering his maiden PSL fifty. Imad’s brilliant 30-ball stay at the crease thus promises more good things to come in the future for the Kings in the remainder of the tournament.
