Multan Sultans skipper Shan Masood marshalled his troops brilliantly to help his team get off to a winning start to their campaign in the fifth season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL). Shan’s decision to employ veteran spin duo of Moeen Ali and Imran Tahir against Lahore Qalandars’ strong batting lineup paid dividends as the home side failed against their guile.
He later starred with the bat to calmly guide his team over the line with plenty of overs to spare. Amidst doubts lingering over his ability to score quickly in the limited-overs formats, Shan turned up the heat with a spate of boundaries to take the game away from the Qalandars’ grasp.
He smacked a total of four boundaries and also smoked a solitary maximum in his 29-ball 38. Shan’s shining performance at the top of the order indicates he is set for this role to steer Multan Sultans’ ship for the rest of the season.
