Big 3 to oppose ICC’FTP cycle from 2023-2031

International Cricket Council (ICC) is expected to face opposition from the Big 3 (India, Australia, and England) regarding the proposal of 2023-2031 Future Tour Program. ICC is planning to introduce extra events including T20 Champions Cup and ODI champions cup in the period of next 8 years.

However, it will significantly curtail the window for bilateral series between the countries and hence reduce their share in the broadcast rights market. It is reported that Australia, India, and England will oppose the inclusion of extra events in the broadcasting cycle.

Remember, that India, Australia, and England recently planned to conduct a Super Series between the top 4 nations but no decision was finalized on that. This clearly shows that Big 3 will not tolerate any policies which will curtail their profits and will be against their interests. It is certain that ICC will adopt a flexible approach during a meeting in March, it is still unsure that what will be the outcome.
