Pakistani paceman Wahab Riaz easily sits in the category of elite PSL performers. Time and again, the domestic stalwart has proved his worth and the recent encounter of Peshawar Zalmi against Quetta Gladiators in the fifth edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) wasn’t any different.
After getting hammered against Karachi Kings in the last contest, Wahab made a fantastic comeback to help Peshawar beat Quetta and win their first game of PSL 2020. Against a destructive opening pair of Shane Watson and Jason Roy, Wahab remained calm to produce a strong bowling display.
Bamboozling Quetta’s batters with his sheer pace and a bag of tricks, the senior cricketer claimed two wickets including the price scalp of Shane Watson. Not only that, he was extremely economical as he conceded only 17 runs in his 4 overs. All this helped Peshawar to restrict Quetta to 148 runs on a true surface, which was later gunned down by Peshawar’s batting heroics led by wicket-keeper batsman Kamran Akmal.
