Islamabad United opens its account in the 5th edition of HBL PSL with an emphatic win against Multan Sultans at Lahore. The all-around performance from the United’s helped them defeating the Sultans be a significant margin. Batting first, Multan managed to put up a total of 164 for the loss of 8 wickets.
The young wicket-keeper batsman Zeeshan Ashraf impressed the fans with his exquisite half-century while James Vince also helped the cause with his supporting innings of 42 runs. Amad Butt was the pick of the bowler for the United’s with 4 wickets to his name.
In reply, it was Colin Munro and Luke Ronchi's show all the way to the end. The two New Zealanders proved to be a nightmare for the bowling line-up of Multan Sultans. Munro and Ronchi demolished Sultans upfront and both scored a half-century. Dawid Malan also scored an impressive 35 as Islamabad chased the target with 20 balls remaining and 8 wickets in the hand.
