Lahore Qalandars continued to provide their fans with heartbreaks as they went down in Gaddafi Stadium against Islamabad United. In a game encompassing a plethora of seesaw moments, Lahore batted first to get a healthy total of 182 runs. The game looked in the reach of hosts, but the last wicket unbeaten effort of Musa Khan and Ahmed Safi Abdullah helped United to chase the total with a ball to spare.
Earlier, an energetic crowd of Lahore got to witness the masterclass of all-rounder Mohammad Hafeez. Coming in to bat inside the 3rd over, the veteran cricketer produced his best innings of Pakistan Super League (PSL). An enthralling batting effort saw him getting unbeaten 98 runs using just 57 balls. To do this, he struck 7 fours and as many sixes.
Not only that, he picked the key wicket of Colin Munro to give Qalandars a big chance of upsetting Islamabad. However, it all went in vain as Usman Shinwari’s poor bowling effort allowed United to get over the line.
