India has finally been knocked down in the ongoing ICC World Test Championship as the men in blue were defeated against the quality of New Zealand in Wellington. In the first of the two-match Test series, Kiwis recorded a 10-wicket victory over India to register their second win of the global-red ball competition.
It was a great comeback from the senior paceman Tim Southee who was taken to cleaners in the five-game T20I series. After claiming four wickets in the first innings of the game, he continued to shine with the ball in the second innings. Doing so, he claimed 5 wickets by giving away only 61 runs. As a result, New Zealand got India all out for 191 runs in the second innings.
For a special bowling show, Southee got the man of the match award which elated him. The 31-year old said that his team’s plan was to come hard and make sure India doesn’t get away with a big lead. Seeing his unit not letting a top side like India getting to 200 in both innings jubilated him. Moreover, he revealed his plan of striving hard to do more of the same in the Christchurch Test.
