Shahid Afridi calls for more teams in PSL

Without a shadow of doubt, Pakistan Super League (PSL) continuous to be one of the most celebrated tournaments of the history of the country. Coming to Pakistan, the 20-over competition is scaling new heights of success as the empty stadiums of United Arab Emirates (UAE) have been replaced by the energetic crowd of Pakistan.

The tournament started off in 2016 with 5 teams and 6th team, representing South Punjab, got added in 2018 edition of the PSL. Moreover, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is likely to add few more teams in the forthcoming years and the iconic all-rounder Shahid Afridi has backed the stance.

Highlighting the population of provinces and the need of new teams, the former Pakistan captain demanded more teams of Punjab and Sindh with a unit representing FATA. Moreover, Afridi feels that PSL has the potential to change the face of Pakistan Cricket just like Indian Premier League (IPL) did for India. In the ongoing season of the T20 gala, the 39-year old is representing Multan Sultans.
