New Zealand continued their winning streak in the ongoing series against India after the home side vanquished over India in the first Test match at the Basin Reserve.
Continuing their good form from the ODI series, the Kiwis thumped India by 10 wickets in the 1st Test match of the series. New Zealand’s captain Kane Williamson praised the team efforts in the post-match conference. Williamson feels that the victory is a result of more focus from the side.
“It’s just about stripping things back a little bit. You can get carried away thinking about results (especially) when you have a number of poor ones and sometimes they want for a good one can be a distraction to getting it.”, Williamson said.
He also credited the lower-order batsmen performances during the 1st Test match as it became a key factor in the team’s victory. New Zealand came back strongly in the home series against India after they lost badly in the T20I series. The 2nd Test match between the two countries will be played at Christchurch.
