Peshawar Zalmi’s start to this edition of the Pakistan Super League (PSL) hasn’t been ideal as the yellow team lost 2 of their 3 contests. While they recorded a stupendous show against Quetta Gladiators, Multan Sultans and Karachi Kings were able to overpower the prowess of Peshawar.
Recently, the quality side went down against Multan Sultans at their home venue. In front of an energetic crowd, the home team managed to put a great show with ball as they restricted Zalmi to 123 runs, which is their lowest total in the history of the 20-over competition.
On a night where the likes of Kamran Akmal, Tom Banton, Shoaib Malik and Liam Livingstone failed, rising batting sensation Haider Ali was found flexing his muscles. He saw kept wickets tumbling from the other end, but kept an aggressive approach to muster 47 runs off 27 balls via the aid of 6 fours and 2 sixes.
The 19-year old added respectability to the total of Zalmi and bowlers utilized it to pick early wickets. However, it was never going to be enough on a good surface. Therefore, his career best T20 innings went in vain as Multan defeated Peshawar by 6 wickets.
